After a Master degree in computer science, Bernard Lhermitte (Luxembourg) has been working for ING since end 1989. He has held various positions in the bank’s IT Dept., and was in charge of Retail Banking, Securities, Credit and Governance IT Domains.

Bernard Lhermitte was responsible for the Application and Project Management Team as from 2005. He took the position as head of IT in 2008. He has a strong track record in IT strategy, business & IT alignment, budget optimisation, project portfolio coordination, project governance and people management. Bernard and his team are key stakeholders in the business transformation process of the bank, aiming to make ING Luxembourg “the most recommended financial partner in 2015″. The key building blocks of the IT strategy are Customer Centricity, Operational Excellence and Top Employer.

Bernard’s implication and contribution in the IT area have enabled him to be rewarded “CIO of the Year” at the 2012 Luxembourg ICT Awards, organized by IT One. His team also won the award “ICT Department of the Year” during the same gala.
