Carlos Ramón will join cloud services distributor, LuxCloud, as Globalization Expert, and Advisor to the Board of Directors and CEO.

LuxCloud, welcomes Carlos Ramón to its team. On July 23, 2012, Carlos will become the company’s Globalization Expert and Advisor to the Board of Directors and CEO; he will bring an extensive track record of developing and executing international strategies and operations for high-tech companies all over the world.

Carlos brings over 20 years’ worldwide experience working with world class technology companies including Akamai Technologies, PeopleSoft, Conviva, Silver Spring Networks and Ooyala, as either a member of the executive team or a member of the Advisory Board.

Throughout his career, Carlos has lead the build-up and operations of companies with SaaS based solutions to increase the productivity of their customers whilst maintaining a low cost of ownership. Carlos’ SaaS experience ranges from his role at PeopleSoft, the pioneer in SaaS based enterprise applications, to Akamai Technologies, the global leader in SaaS delivery of content and applications.

During his time at Akamai Technologies, the leading global service provider for distributing computing solutions and services online, Carlos held the role of General Manager of International Operations and VP of Sales; in a little over three years he was at the forefront of an increase in international growth from $27M to $140M.

Whilst General Manager at Silver Spring Networks, the leading Smart Grid network solutions provider, Carlos introduced the company to new markets around the world and successfully signed up many new customers.

As Globalization Expert, Carlos will focus on the augmentation of long-term value for LuxCloud’s shareholders. The scope of his activities will be centred on maximizing and diversifying global revenue by establishing a solid foundation for a sustainable, profitable and leading global SaaS business.

Promoting Hosted365, the latest LuxCloud offering, will be high on Carlos’ list of priorities; a compilation of cloud services which allows service providers, telecom operators and value added resellers the opportunity to offer a securely hosted desktop with web based versions of Microsoft Office programs. Several businesses have already utilized the service and have boasted an increase in productivity along with cost savings of up to 80%, indicating a ROI within three months.

Carlos spoke enthusiastically about his role, “With their portfolio of products and services, LuxCloud has the potential to deliver to a much wider audience. Working together we will create a strategy to enhance LuxCloud’s international expansion, thus increasing global sales and awareness of its suite of products.”

Carlos holds a BSc degree in Electrical and Computing Engineering from Baylor University, US, and is a graduate of Stanford Business School SEP, US. Born and raised in Uruguay, Carlos is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.
