Towards the end of 2000 European Fund Administration(EFA) was expanding rapidly, quickly reaching the limitsof its PABX phone solution. EFA started investigating a bigger voice infrastructure.
EFA approached Dimension Data, a system integrator with a reputation for telephony solutions. ‘We were on the same page very quickly with Dimension Data,’ says Sébastien Klamber, Telephony System Manager at EFA. ‘They were extremely professional and came up with a variety of solutions that would fit our needs, so that we could work together as a team.’
Dimension Data partnered with EFA to install a Nortel Option 61C, a modern system with advanced reporting and splitbilling functionalities. In 2008 an end-toend IP solution was installed with Cisco technology to support 600 workplaces.
‘In 2008 we once again experienced rapid growth,’ says Sebastien Klamber, ‘so much so that we had to acquire more office space. It would have been a costly choice to expand our Nortel digital technology to accommodate our growth. Dimension Data proposed a flexible IP solution that was easy to deploy and maintain. We equipped the new building and our French office with this Cisco technology.
‘We often have to restructure our internal teams to quickly accommodate our business needs and address unplanned demands, so we need a telephony solution that’s both flexible and easy to manage.’ In an administrative environment such as EFA’s, telecommunication is critical. ‘Telecommunication is a key tool of our production service,’ says Sebastien Klamber. ‘We’ve therefore installed, with Dimension Data’s help, a redundant Call Manager in our business and recovery centre, and recently introduced dual homing with two independent access points.
‘We’re now working with our IT department to design our unied communication programme. This year, we’ll have a unied messaging system which will allow us to receive voicemails directly in our Microsoft Outlook inbox. ‘We’ve always worked side by side with a dynamic Dimension Data team that’s constantly there to provide support and propose solutions for our projects. The technical team is a very tight group – it’s easy to see that these are people who love their jobs. They’re always available, offering support beyond typical work schedules or a common range of support services.’
