Global Crossing, a provider of global IP solutions and a Tier 1 Carrier, is expanding its presence in Luxemburg by becoming a member of LU-CIX, the Luxembourg Commercial Internet Exchange. This network expansion by Global Crossing offers enterprises, carriers and service providers, located within the country, access to the largest and most secure IP network globally.

Global Crossing provides high capacity backbone and transport services, global enterprise network services and internet access services to companies worldwide. It offers a wide range of data, voice and collaboration solutions. Until now, its presence in Luxemburg has been limited, but by becoming a member of LU-CIX, Global Crossing’s IP Transit and Direct Internet Access services can be provided either directly on Global Crossing’s equipment in eBRC Windhof, or via LU-CIX and all data centres where LU-CIX is accessible.

The ASR provides Ethernet access to Global Crossing’s recently announced EtherSphere™ VPLS service, Layer 3 MPLS VPN service, and dedicated internet access.

LU-CIX is more than an Internet eXchange, it is a distribution platform for new creative Internet services. Thanks to its proximity to other Internet hubs such as Frankfurt, Amsterdam, or London, LU-CIX presents a smart alternative to established Internet eXchange points.
