This month the TECHNOPORT hosts the second Luxembourg Startup Weekend, an event bringing together entrepreneurs, designers, developers and startup enthusiasts to participate in 54 hours of taking innovative business ideas from concept to launch.
Whether you have a business idea or a skill that is necessary in building a successful startup, this event is one that aspiring entrepreneurs should not miss. Concept pitching and team building will take place on day one; teams will be formed around concepts and various skills that are brought to the table leaving the remainder of the weekend to mind mapping, strategizing and building a real business.
This time, before getting into a full weekend of startup creation, the participants will have the opportunity to attend two warm up sessions on the 13th and 16th of May. These two free workshops will be dedicated to specific topics conditioning a successful Startup Weekend, and organizers will be available to answer any question about the main event.
On the 13th of May, from 17:00 to 21:00, an Idea generation workshop will provide future participants with an overview of idea generation as well as idea management before and during the Startup Weekend. Crucial elements such as personal and group idea exploration dynamics, idea expression techniques and problem statement definition will be addressed through practical exercises. The core objective of this warm-up session is to generate a do-tank so that each participant can personally reflect and capitalize on the better means to express and manage ideas for an optimal Startup Weekend experience.
On the 16th of May, from 12:00 to 14:00, another workshop will be dedicated to the emblematic activity of the startup weekend, the startup idea pitch. A general pitch rehearsal will occur on that date and will allow reusing the generated material from the 1st Idea generation workshop. Through the pitch rehearsal exercise, participants will fine tune the means and ways to physically express their start-up intentions in one minute. The process of idea voting that occurs during the Startup Weekend will also be illustrated. The general learning outcome of this final warm-up session is that all participants fully master the event process and crucial phases.
Both warm up sessions will be hosted by The Impactory in central Luxembourg (29, Bd Grande-Duchesse Charlotte, L-1331 Luxembourg). Participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible as seats are limited. It’s free!
