At the occasion of the Hack.lu Convention on October 22nd, CIONET Luxembourg will have its first CIONET Highlight Event on IT security. A CIONET Highlight Event is a CIONET Luxembourg roundtable and discussion on a IT dedicated topic. For the first time, CIO’s will have a discussion with Claus Cramon Houmann, Head of IT at the Banque Öhman SA Bank in Luxembourg, Andrea Barisani and Daniele Bianco, internationally known security researchers and speakers on IT Sec.

At the occasion of the Hack.lu Convention on October 22nd, CIONET Luxembourg will have its first CIONET Highlight Event on IT security.
A CIONET Highlight Event is a CIONET Luxembourg roundtable and discussion on a IT dedicated topic. For the first time, CIO’s will have a discussion with Claus Cramon Houmann, Head of IT at the Banque Öhman SA Bank in Luxembourg, Andrea Barisani and Daniele Bianco, internationally known security researchers and speakers on IT Sec.
The event is supported by the CIRCL (Computer Incident Response Center Luxembourg), the national Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT – CERT) coordination center for the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg. A CSIRT (or CERT) is like a fire brigade which can react when computer security incidents occur. CIRCL is operated by SMILE (“security made in Lëtzebuerg”), a State funded “groupement d’intérêt économique” (GIE), designed to improve information security and create new opportunities for Luxembourg.

Defensive strategies – how to build a defense in depth ?
Claus Cramon Houmann, is the Head of IT at the Banque Öhman SA Bank in Luxembourg. He is addicted to Information Security. He has worked eight years as Project Manager within the IT Outsourcing industry in Denmark, four years as an IT Consultant in Luxembourg and currently, it’s been two years working as the Head of IT for Banque Öhman. He has a Master degree in Business Administration and IT from the Aarhus Business School and during his career, he has achieved the certifications ITIL Certified expert, CISSP, Prince2 practitioner. Claus is a family man and has now mostly settled down in a regular job trying to travel less and enjoy his kids!
ANDREA BARISANI
Andrea Barisani is an internationally known security researcher. He’s Chief Security Engineer, at Inverse Path S.r.l. in Trieste Area, Italy. Since owning his first Commodore-64 he has never stopped studying new technologies, developing unconventional attack vectors and exploring what makes things tick…and break. His experiences focus on large-scale infrastructure administration and defense, forensic analysis, penetration testing and software development, with more than 13 years of professional experience in security consulting. Being an active member of the international Open Source and security community he contributed to several projects, books and open standards.
He is now the founder and coordinator of the oCERT effort, the Open Source Computer Security Incident Response Team. He has been a speaker and trainer at BlackHat, CanSecWest, DEFCON, Hack In The Box, PacSec conferences among many others, speaking about TEMPEST attacks, SatNav hacking, 0-days, OS hardening and many other topics.
DANIELE BIANCO
Daniele Bianco began his professional career as a system administrator in scientific organizations. His interest in centralized management and software integration in Open Source environments has focused his work on design and development of suitable R&D infrastructures. One of his passions has always been exploring hardware and electronic devices.
Currently he is Inverse Path’s resident Hardware Hacker. His primary activities focus on hardware customization, embedded system integration and the design of remote monitoring networks for M2M infrastructures. He is an active contributor to the Open Source community and an invited speaker at many international IT security events.
ABOUT HACK.LU
Hack.lu is an open convention/conference where people can discuss about computer security, privacy, information technology and its cultural/technical implication on society. The aim of the convention is to make a bridge of the various actors in the computer security world. The conference takes place at Parc Hotel Alvisse in Luxembourg the 22-24 October 2013. Hack.lu 2013 is the 9th edition of the security conference where more than 250 people meet from all over the world to discuss, exchange and work on various information security topics.
The conference is composed of more than 25 talks from renowned security professionals talking about malware analysis, reversing, cybercriminals, mobile security, VoIP security or SCADA security. There are also various workshops covering various aspects like Android reversing to network intrusion detection. As the developer meeting of the Suricata IDS is also taking place during the conference, it’s an opportunity to meet the developers of the Suricata open-source NIDS. During the 3-days conference, a capture the flag (CTF) contest (a hacking challenge) is taking place where security professionals can solve simple to complex information security challenges.
