Independent analyst firm names Dimension Data as having best-in-class capabilities for real estate and information technology portfolio energy systems.
Dimension Data, the USD 5.8 billion global ICT services and solutions provider, has been named as a Leader in the Green Quadrant Sustainable Technology Services report by Verdantix. Dimension Data was named along with seven other companies as having a dedicated sustainability practice, a wide range of capabilities and a strong track record in corporate sustainability. This is the first year that Dimension Data submitted information about its sustainability strategy to Verdantix.
The Green Quadrant Sustainable Technology Services report is a comprehensive comparison of 16 leading global sustainable technology service providers. Analysis was compiled from information provided by 15 buyers, representing organisations with combined revenues of USD 183 billion. Each organisation completed a 53-point questionnaire, and participated in supplier interviews. Organisations were rated in areas including real estate energy systems, IT portfolio energy systems, renewable energy systems, environmental management, climate change modelling and low carbon transport. The Green Quadrant report also evaluates the momentum of organisations when it comes to strategic success factors such as energy and carbon management.
Dimension Data is rated as having best-in-class capabilities for real estate and information technology portfolio energy systems. Dimension Data is also one of the organisations that demonstrate a broad and deep expertise in the built environment and across their sustainability portfolio.”
David Metcalfe, CEO of Verdantix.
Dimension Data was recognised with the Green Goal Silver Sustainability Award for its integrated instrumentation systems design and implementation for Green Point Stadium in Cape Town, which was built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. In addition, the Group’s extensive experience in data centre and renewable energy systems scored well, driven by the innovative use of energy management tools and assessments.
Colin Curtis, Group Director of Sustainability commented: “The experience we’ve built up over the past six years, supported by a wide range of solutions and services that help organisations reduce their travel, energy and waste, means we’re able to take a more collaborative approach with our clients when solving sustainability issues. We are pleased that our strategy aligns with Verdantix’s approach of having a practice leader who is responsible for not only the internal sustainability programme, but also the externally facing consultancy. This means that clients are able to leverage the experience we’ve gained from implementing sustainability programmes within our own operations.”
Our vision for sustainability is to harness the power of ICT to help our clients reduce costs and meet their own sustainability objectives. Sustainability is an important part of our strategy as it’s an area where we can make a positive contribution to society and also to our clients’ businesses. I’m extremely proud of our leadership position in the Green Quadrant – it’s a testament to the success of our strategy and our ability to help clients realise tangible business benefits.”
