As AI moves beyond pure technology, organisations are increasingly relying on cross-disciplinary expertise to drive real business transformation — an integrated approach led at NSI by Chief Innovation Officer Yannis Nakos.
As AI evolves beyond data centres and semi-conductors, companies and public institutions are turning to a range of AI experts to help them understand which parts of their business can be transformed, alongside technical specialists who can build the required agents and services. This can require working with multiple vendors, however at NSI, cross disciplinary expertise is available under the leadership of recently promoted Chief Innovation Officer, Yannis Nakos.
Digital process automation and AI, have been his focus for the last 20 years predominately at IBM. More recently after joining NSI, he has been embedded within a major Luxembourg player in public transportation, supporting them on multiple fronts to define their AI strategy. This has included qualifying AI opportunities, designing and proposing AI processes and solutions, setting up the foundations for AI governance while overseeing execution and implementation of the first projects with the data scientists team. This project is a compelling example of where AI can drive transformation across multiple areas, from supply chain and daily operations to human resources and cost management. Yannis is also supporting multiple other industries such as manufacturing in Industry 4.0 concepts, governmental agencies, financial services and insurances with their adoption of trustworthy and governed AI.
AI implementation also requires up-to-date expertise in data management, now an industry in its own right. Effective cloud or hybrid solutions demand both strong technical capabilities and a clear legal understanding of what data sovereignty and governance means in 2026. This is an area in which Yannis is a recognised European expert, and you will have the opportunity to put questions to him on the 5th March at an upcoming ITnation round table.
NSI is an accredited IBM partner within EMEA and delivering infrastructure management, collaborative solutions, e-commerce projects, and web management services.
Meet Yannis Nakos at an exclusive roundtable on 5th March on the topic: AI and Data Sovereignty – The New Frontier Between the EU and the USA.
