Following an open call for tenders launched in 2009, the Panoplis consortia, led by TRASYS and Siemens IT Solutions and Services, have been awarded three major framework contracts by the European Commission in the framework of the ESP-DESIS II call for tenders (External Service Provision for Development, Studies and Support for Information Systems) as first contractors in the cascade for lots 1A, 1B and 1C.

The Panoplis consortia consist of Trasys, Siemens IT Solutions and Services, Fujitsu Technology Solutions, Ordina Belgium, Everis, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica, TXT e solutions and Arhs Developments. These 4 year contracts represent a total maximum value of approximately 392
million EUR and 950 jobs for IT-professionals. These values encompass all the three contractors of the cascade in the lots 1A, 1B and 1C.

The contract enters into force right now with the services transition from the previous to the new suppliers. The services will mainly be executed in the European Commission premises in Brussels, Luxembourg and Ispra (Italy) as well as in executive agencies.

Three lots of the ESP-DESIS II open call for tenders

The three lots awarded to the consortia are:

1. Development in database management systems (DBMS), application servers and related tools (Panoplis A led by TRASYS)

2. Development in document and content management as well as geographical information system (GIS) tools (Panoplis B led by Trasys)

3. Development in data warehouse, reporting and statistical tools (Panoplis C led by Siemens). Following the winning of an open call for tenders, the partnering companies will reinforce their positions in all implementation phases of information systems in the domain of human resources management, financial management, logistics, administrative management and Commission’s policies. Practically, the Consortia will provide support in project management, analysis, prototyping, design, programming, testing, installation, deployment, maintenance, customisation, technical documentation and technical training. In order to cover these activities, profiles such as project managers, application architects, analysts, analystprogrammers, interface designers and technical writers are concerned.

Thanks to these framework contracts, all the members of the Panoplis consortia will significantly strengthen their software development activities within the European Institutions sector in particular and in the IT market in general.
