Securing the Digital World: From SASE to AI-Driven SecOps

Luxembourg never asked to be on the front line of cybersecurity, but we are surrounded by evidence of threats and attacks. Even for companies that do not take cybersecurity as seriously as they should, NIS2 and DORA have triggered compliance and security teams into action. Meanwhile, at the technical level, cyber threats are growing in scale and sophistication, and organisations are being forced to rethink how they secure their digital environments. The traditional patchwork of point solutions is no longer sufficient in a world defined by hybrid work, cloud adoption, and increasingly autonomous systems.
We recently asked CIOs at what point they consider data to be at its most vulnerable, and hybrid working was ranked in first place. Using VPN and private cloud solutions is not sufficient to achieve governance equivalence with office-based teams, even when supported by a proficient SOC.
On April 29th, the team from Fortinet will showcase some of the innovations shaping the future of cybersecurity, focusing on Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), AI-driven security, and next-generation Security Operations (SecOps).
But what is SASE? It is a model that converges networking and security into a unified, cloud-delivered framework. By combining capabilities such as SD-WAN, Firewall-as-a-Service, Secure Web Gateway, CASB, and Zero Trust Network Access, SASE enables organisations to provide secure, consistent access to applications and data, regardless of user location.
AI remains the central focus of any security conversation, both in terms of attack and defence, even more so following recent news that Mythros by Anthropic has fallen into unauthorised hands. So how can organisations effectively utilise AI-driven security?
We spoke to Carl Windsor, CISO at Fortinet who commented:
“AI-driven security is no longer about better tools, but about speed and integration. Organisations need to embed AI across development, detection, and response to move from reactive patching to proactive risk reduction, all while automating mitigation to keep pace with threats that can now be exploited in hours.”
The third pillar of this transformation lies in SecOps modernisation. SOC platforms need to integrate SIEM, SOAR, and case management, combined with agentic AI, to enable automated triage, investigation, and threat hunting at scale.
Together, these advancements mark a decisive shift towards integrated, intelligent security. Join us on the 29th of April to discover how they could benefit your organisation.
