Luxembourg airline Luxair signs ten-year contract for ProfitLine/Yield Rembrandt to modernize its revenue management. The solution will enable the Luxembourg airline to optimize their saleable capacities and, thus, increase revenues. Both companies recently signed a ten-year contract to this effect. With this agreement Luxair and Lufthansa Systems expand their longstanding successful cooperation.

“Especially in today’s challenging business environment we need to adapt quickly to changes in market demand and the competitive situation by adjusting the available seats and prices. ProfitLine/Yield Rembrandt perfectly meets our requirements in terms of functionality, reliability and ease of use. We were impressed by its reaction speed and the scope of available market information which enable us to enhance our revenue management and become more competitive,” explained Alberto Kunkel, Executive VP and Head of Sales and Marketing at Luxair.

ProfitLine/Yield Rembrandt is a leading revenue management solution. It has been specifically designed for the needs of mid-size airlines and low-cost carriers. Even airlines already using another revenue management system can increase profitability and market share. By switching to ProfitLine/Yield Rembrandt a typical mid-size airline can increase its revenues by up to USD 6 million per year. The system covers all core processes of revenue management – from data loading and demand forecasting to optimizing availability data – and offers an extensive reporting tool. The system puts Luxair in the position to recognize market opportunities at an early stage and to react quickly to market changes.

“ProfitLine/Yield Rembrandt is the perfect example of the significant economic benefits our IT solutions generate for our customers around the world,” said Stefan Auerbach, Senior Vice President Sales EMEA/Central at Lufthansa Systems. “In difficult times like these state-of-the-art-IT solutions can make the crucial difference for an airline. We are proud that Luxair has decided to further expand our trust-based cooperation.”

Luxair started its cooperation with Lufthansa Systems in 1996 as one of the first customers of ELWIS, Lufthansa Systems’ cargo handling solution, and recently renewed the contract for another five years. ELWIS covers the entire cargo handling workflow. The comprehensive solution integrates wireless technology and offers real-time tracking and tracing over the entire shipment life cycle.

Also in 1996 Luxair decided to introduce the NetLine systems as a comprehensive and integrated platform for its network planning and flight operations departments. NetLine serves as the central information and decision backbone for all flight-related business processes, assuring accurate and quick communication, enhancing decisions towards cost efficiency, safety and stability.
