The firm will embed squads of engineers and AI agents directly into clients’ core business units, shifting pilots to solutions deployed in production.

FDEs delivering real AI results

The acceleration responds to market demand where organisations require direct engineering capability inside operational units to scale enterprise AI effectively. Under the FDE practice, client organisations get embedded engineers and autonomous agents working within their existing environments to accelerate production deployment and cost efficiency across business units. The expanded practice builds on Devoteam’s established track record of delivering enterprise AI projects and operating autonomous agents within live client environments.

Training Europe’s next generation of FDEs

To grow this capability at scale, Devoteam is launching FDE Foundation by Devoteam, the first forward deployed engineering certification programme launched by a European consulting firm. The programme prepares engineers for the full deployment cycle, from discovery inside the client’s business units to solutions running in production. The first cohort of 20 engineers starts on 12 October 2026.

In addition, Devoteam is on track to field over 300 forward deployed engineers in 2026, backed by partner accreditations with AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft. These include a five-year strategic collaboration agreement with AWS to scale FDE transformations across EMEA, an FDE programme with Google Cloud to certify Devoteam engineers over the next 12 months, and selection as a Frontier Partner within Microsoft’s forward deployed engineering ecosystem.
