Dimension Data, an IT services and solutions provider, announced that it has been named to BusinessWeek’s Info Tech 100 list, which recognises the top-performing technology companies across the globe. The premier business magazine, which is read by 4.8 million readers across 140 countries each week, compiles this list annually to rank and measure the 100 hottest technology companies of the year.

This year’s Info Tech 100 list, which showcases companies that have thrived even in the face of a global recession, lists Dimension Data at position 21. The news comes hot on the heels of Dimension Data’s strong mid-year financial results, announced earlier this month, with revenue growth of 8.1% and operating profit growth of 37% in constant currency.

In assembling the list of top IT performers, BusinessWeek, aided by Standard & Poor’s Compustat, examined the financial results of tens of thousands of publicly traded companies. To qualify, organisations had to have revenues of at least $500 million. Companies were then ranked on return on equity, shareholder return, revenue growth and total revenues.

“This recognition is a fantastic endorsement of our company and of the consistent and strong financial performance that sets Dimension Data apart from competitors,” said Brett Dawson, Dimension Data Group CEO. “This recognition from BusinessWeek is a testament to the tremendous efforts of our employees around the globe who deliver excellent solutions, services and support to our clients each day.”

The 11th annual Info Tech 100 list appears in BusinessWeek’s June 1 issue (on newsstands from May 22). See the full list
