On October 4, Pascal Denis, Country Managing Director of Accenture Luxembourg, was proud to accept the ‘Top Company for Gender Equality Award’ at a gala dinner marking the 2nd edition of the European Forum on Best Practices in Gender Equality.

The award recognizes organizations based in Luxembourg that show extraordinary results in terms of gender equality at all levels of their hierarchy, measuring the current representation of both genders as well as the improvement in women’s representation over time.

The European Forum on Best Practices in Gender Equality is part of the initiative ”Inspiring Woman of the Year & Top Company for Gender Equality” awards placed under the patronage of Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the European Commission and of Xavier Bettel, Deputy and Mayor of Luxembourg City. The distinction was offered by Nicolas Schmit, Luxembourg’s Minister of Labour, and Murielle Antoine, Inspiring Woman of the Year in Finance, and Managing Director of the Bank of New York Mellon in Luxembourg, the company that received the prize in 2012.

“This is great external recognition of Accenture’s commitment to diversity. Our unique ability to bring together multiple perspectives, backgrounds, cultures and skills—reflecting the clients we serve—is extremely powerful in driving innovation and being relevant to our clients’ needs, the Accenture Way. This award also sends a powerful message to new generations of women and men considering a career with us”, said Pascal Denis when receiving the award at the event.

The award was introduced in Luxembourg by the Inspiring Wo-Men Business Club. Inspiring Wo-Men is a business club for both men and women that aims at empowering and supporting its members and promoting gender equality in a positive and inspiring way, as it is convinced that equal economic opportunities for both men and women lead to stronger and sustainable growth through increased labour productivity and human capital.

By organizing this forum, Inspiring Wo-Men wants to provide a European platform for discussion of economic aspects of gender equality, successful strategies and best practices that can reduce the gender gaps in economies around the world and improve gender balance in decision-making positions.
