World Standards Day 2026

ILNAS, in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg, will organize an event to celebrate the World Standards Day on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, starting at 1:30 PM at the Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts in Luxembourg City.
The World Standards Day is an opportunity to celebrate technical standardization and highlight the collaborative efforts of the whole community involved in the domain. In this context, ILNAS and the University of Luxembourg are organizing an event focused this year on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and the links between standardization, education, and research.
The first part of the event will be dedicated to standardization in the ICT field. During this session ILNAS will notably present its new publication highlighting the benefits of technical standardization in the ICT sector for various socio-economic stakeholders.
The second part of the event will focus on the close links between technical standardization, education, and research, illustrated by the fruitful collaboration between ILNAS and the University of Luxembourg, particularly through several joint research programs. In this context, PhD students from the current research program (2025-2028) “Technical Standardisation for trustworthy and sustainable ICT, Aerospace and Construction“ will present the first results of their work and their involvement in technical standardization.
ILNAS will then present the “National Standardization Delegate 2026” award, recognizing the standardization work of a national expert.
To conclude the day, participants will enjoy a cocktail reception, offering an opportunity to continue discussions and share their experiences regarding technical standardization.
