As part of the implementation of the Technical Standardization Policy “ISO CASCO” 2022–2030, ILNAS, with the support of ANEC EIG, is offering a 2-days training entitled “Conformity Assessment and Standardization”, which will take place on November 20 and 21, 2025. The aim of this training is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the conformity assessment ecosystem.

On the first day, an introduction to the ecosystem of conformity assessment will be made, highlighting the various stakeholders, their processes, interactions, and contributions within the trust chain, as well as key concepts such as presumption of conformity and accreditation.

The second day will be dedicated to three thematic workshops held in parallel, covering the following topics:

  • Standardization in the frame of the AI Act ;
  • Certification schemes related to the Cybersecurity Act ;
  • Certification of the energy management systems based on the ISO 50001:2018 standard, aligned with the European energy efficiency objectives.

These workshops will provide concrete examples, thus facilitating the understanding of the concepts presented on the first day.

During this training, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Identify the different elements contributing to the chain of trust, particularly through the roles of conformity assessment bodies, accreditation and standardization ;
  • Know different conformity assessment methods (inspection, certification, testing, verification et validation…) as well as main standards related to these practices ;
  • Understand the concept of presumption of conformity and the role played by standards in this frame ;
  • Become familiar with the legal framework associated with harmonized standards within the European Union;
  • Explore the usage of standards to demonstrate conformity via a selection of concrete use cases during the thematic workshops.

This training is intended for professionals, conformity assessment bodies, auditors, distributors, and researchers who wish to deepen their knowledge of standards and their role in compliance.
